Vespasian
After the death of Nero a short civil war took place among the four who
could have taken his place. At the end Vespasiano was elected emperor.
He came from the middle class, and was honest and full of common sense.
He ruled for ten years, during which he wisely administrated the town, restored peace
and put an end to civil wars.
Being devoted to the gods, he restored many temples, but his greatest work, finished
by his successors, was the Flavian Amphitheatre or Colosseum.
